Sun Announces J2EE 1.0 Specifications Finalized

In March, Sun announce the completion of J2EE 1.0 Specifications. Currently, no existing JavaTM platform specification addresses the problem of providing a standard architecture for integrating heterogeneous Enterprise Information Systems(EISes). Most EIS vendors and application server vendors use non-standard vendor-specific architectures to provide connectivity between application servers and enterprise information systems. IBS Associates have already been working on development projects that fully support the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). "We have embraced this technology since it's conception, and believe it will be the catalyst for finally integrating our client's core applications to the internet", remarks Mike Hallabrin, IBS Chief Technology Officer. "J2EE will take our clients from the flaming logo stage to a fully integrated presentation to their customers." Hallabrin continued.
